On April 25, the traditional Festival of National Cultures "We are all different, but we are together" was held at the Brest State Technical University, in which Belarusian and foreign students of BrSTU took part. This bright and multifaceted event brought together students from different parts of the world, who presented their cultures, traditions and culinary delights.
More than 570 foreign students from 19 countries study at our university. This year's Festival brought together students representing more than 10 countries, including China, Venezuela, Nigeria, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Italy, Zimbabwe, and Yemen.
Andrey Nikolaevich Parfievich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, addressed the festival participants with a welcoming speech. Among the honored guests of the festival were employees of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Brest Regional Executive Committee and the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Moscow District Administration of Brest. The program turned out to be very rich and included various genres. During the festival, guests could enjoy a variety of performances: from interesting presentations dedicated to their countries, dance numbers to musical performances.
At the end of the festival, those present were able to immerse themselves in the culture of each country thanks to national cuisine dishes prepared by foreign and Belarusian students. Guests were able to try exotic treats and learn about the culinary traditions of different nations.
As part of the program, honorary diplomas and souvenirs were awarded to participants in the Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language, which was held the day before at our university.
After the event, foreign students of the university were able to get answers to their questions related to registration procedures, obtaining exit visas, and opportunities for official employment.
Thanks to the event, we saw all the cultural diversity of the world around us and once again saw how much we have in common! The festival "We are all different, but we are together" became not only a cultural celebration, but also an important step towards strengthening intercultural dialogue!
