BrSTU summarized the results of "Science Week 2026"

Brest State Technical University held its large-scale traditional event, "Science Week 2026," which concluded with an exhibition of scientific achievements by young scientists, graduate students, and undergraduates. BrSTU Rector Andrey Nikolaevich Parfievich presented certificates to the exhibition participants in a ceremonial setting.

This year's exhibition brought together not only university students and young researchers, but also students from the Brest State College of Communications and the BrSTU branch of the Polytechnic College. Such collaboration promotes the development of youth science and strengthens ties between educational institutions in the region!

Among the many developments on display, visitors were particularly drawn to projects focused on solving pressing practical problems. Among them:

  • a system for recycling PET containers into filament for additive printing—an environmentally friendly and innovative solution for 3D printing
  • a device for facilitating care for people with cancer—a socially significant development aimed at improving the quality of life of patients
  • a candy sorter—an example of automation of production processes
  • a new heating device for a hot-water heating system made of polymeric materials—the project aims to develop and implement heating devices made of polymeric materials in the Republic of Belarus, designed for use in existing hot-water heating systems of residential and public buildings. The use of polymeric materials eliminates corrosion problems, reduces hydraulic losses and product costs, and paves the way for the industrial production of heating devices with improved performance characteristics
  • A historical exhibition on the evolution of optical cursor control devices clearly demonstrates the evolution of optical cursor control devices using four working examples connected to a modern computer via signal conversion circuits: the first optical mouse, released by Xerox in 1981; the 1983 Mouse Systems optical mouse based on light reflection from a mirrored mouse pad; the first optical trackball released by Logitech in 1995; and the experimental Q500 mouse from 1996

Holding such exhibitions allows young researchers not only to showcase their achievements but also to receive feedback from the professional community, motivating them to further develop their scientific and engineering careers. The event once again confirmed the high potential of young people at BrSTU and its branches, as well as their contribution to the development of science and technology.

BrSTU congratulates all participants on their successful projects and wishes them new scientific discoveries, bold ideas, and exciting victories!
