A training laboratory for combating cyber threats opened at Brest State Technical University

On September 18, 2025, the opening ceremony of a training laboratory designed to train cybersecurity specialists was held at Brest State Technical University. The project is being implemented jointly with Kaspersky Lab, a global leader in information security software development.

The laboratory is a specialized platform for practical training for future specialists, equipped with a range of modern hardware and software. The learning environment allows for a detailed study of information security mechanisms, the identification of potential threats, and the development of effective countermeasures against attackers.

Dmitry Kudrevich, Development Director of Kaspersky Belarus, noted the need for continuous professional development for IT security specialists, emphasizing the university's key role in developing digital competencies. According to a company representative, developing competent personnel plays a crucial role in ensuring organizations' reliable protection from malicious attacks.

Sergey Antonovich Kasperovich, Rector of Brest State Technical University, expressed satisfaction with the results of the partnership with Kaspersky Lab: "We understand the full responsibility placed on the shoulders of information security specialists. The creation of a training lab opens up extensive opportunities for training personnel capable of confidently navigating the rapidly evolving cyberthreat environment."

Practical classes in the lab cover a wide range of disciplines, including information security risk management, network attack monitoring, and the use of modern technical security tools. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, students will be able to master real-world cases and develop deep knowledge and skills enabling them to professionally solve complex problems.

In addition to specialized classes, the lab is also open to students from other majors interested in studying information security. This approach fosters interdisciplinary approaches and the development of universal competencies in demand in the labor market.
