Building Structures

The Department of Building Structures is the leading one in the university, whose specialists have a special certification for carrying out works on assessing the technical condition of buildings and structures, development of design documents for reinforcing building constructions, as well as designing buildings and structures.

Unlike specialized design organizations, the Department of Building Structures not only carries out the design of unique objects, but also produces their practical tests, as well as monitoring of the constructed facilities throughout a long service life.

As at 2017, the number of academic staff is 22 people, part-time employees - 4 people, out of them external part-time employees - 1 person. Of the number of academic staff 2 people have a degree of Doctor of Technical Science, 14 - a degree of Doctor of technical sciences, Associate Professor - 15.

History of the Department

The department "Building Structures" was founded in 1967 as a part of the Civil Engineering faculty. The first Head of the department was Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Yagolkovsky Rostislav Nikolaevich.

In 1971 - 1973 the department was headed by Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Rochnyak Oleg Anatolievich.

In 1973 the Department was divided into the department of "Metal, wooden and plastic structures" (headed by Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Petrov Anatoly Nikolaevich) and the Department "Concrete Structures" (the Head of the Department was Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Rochnyak Oleg Anatolyevich).

From 1974 to 1979, the head of the Department "Metal and wooden structures" was Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Yagolkovsky Rostislav Nikolaevich.

In 1976 the Department "Metal and Wooden structures" was included in the faculty of Agricultural building, and the department "Concrete structures" - in the structure of the faculty of Industrial and civil construction.

From 1979 to 1992, the Department of Metal and Wood Structures was headed by Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Murashko Nikolai Nikolaevich.

In 1986 - 1988 the Department "Concrete Structures" was headed by Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Kondratchik Alexander Arkadevich.

In 1988 the department "Metal and Wooden Structures" and "Concrete Structures" were again united in one Department "Building Structures" within the Civil Engineering faculty. The first head of the re-created department was Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor Murashko Nikolai Nikolaevich

In 1992 - 1993 the Department was headed by Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor Orlovich Roman Boleslavovich.

From 1993 to 2009 the Department "Building Structures" was headed by Professor, Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor, Dragan Vyacheslav Ignatievich.

From 2009 to 2017 the Department was headed by Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor, Shalobyta Nikolai Nikolaevich.

In 2017 the Head of the Department was Shurin Andrei Bronislavovich Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Associate Professor.
