The international scientific and practical conference of young scientists “Engineering and environmental aspects and prospects for the development of water supply and sanitation systems,” dedicated to World Water Day, was held at the Faculty of Engineering Systems and Ecology of BrSTU on March 28.
At the plenary session, the possibilities for the participation of young Belarusian scientists in ecological and geographical expeditions were discussed using the example of two expedition projects: the XIII scientific and educational marine expedition “Arctic Floating University - 2021” and the international research expedition project “Kamchatka: Northwestern Ring of Fire” - 2022 ( Deputy Dean of FISE BrSTU Ekaterina Basalay), topical issues of digitalization of processes for managing borehole water intakes of water supply systems (graduate student of the Department of Water Supply, Sanitation and Protection of Water Resources Vitaly Kovalenko) and assessment of the applicability of international standards of digital twins for solving problems of water disposal (graduate student of Polesie State University Alexey Shikunets) were considered. Of particular interest to the students were the report of the post-graduate student of the Department of Water Supply, Sanitation and Protection of Water Resources Daria Senchuk on the treatment of wastewater from cadmium ions with crushed briquetted peat and the report of the third-year FISE student Elizaveta Zayats on the preparation of bottled drinking water using the ozonation method.
