For students and undergraduates of the specialty “Heat and gas supply, ventilation and air protection” of BrSTU, a lecture was held on the topic “Electric heating and prospects for import substitution in heating systems in the Republic of Belarus at the present stage.”
The lecture at the invitation of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation (HV) was given by Nikolai Salivonchik, Deputy Director of ODO “Onyx” (Belarus, Gomel), a well-known manufacturer of equipment for heating systems under the “MISOT” brand. ODO "Onyx" is the first Belarusian manufacturer of aluminum and bimetallic heating radiators, thermostatic fittings, as well as a large manufacturer of aluminum electric convectors of various brands.
The latest innovations in Belarusian-made electric heating equipment were presented at the lecture. Students will have the opportunity to study the presented equipment in detail, since ODO “Onyx”, after demonstrating it at the lecture, provided it free of charge to the “Heating” laboratory of the Department of Heat, Gas Supply and Ventilation for use in the educational process. These are modern energy-saving electric heating devices that have the ability to control room heating, including remotely via WI-FI.
Students were also shown new automatic balancing valves for the water heating system, which Onyx ODO began producing for the purpose of import substitution at the beginning of 2024. Nowadays, not a single heating system in a multi-apartment residential or public building can operate without automatic valves! Until 2023, such equipment was not produced in our country. These new products are also provided free of charge in the laboratory of the Department of DVT.
In addition, during the meeting, agreements were reached between the university and ODO “Onyx” on the admission of students for practical training, including the possibility of paying students for work performed.
It is worth noting that this is not the first such event held by the DVT department since the beginning of 2024. In March 2024, the director of the representative office of the IMMERGAZ company, Vladislav Srednyak (IMMERGAZ is a large holding company with factories in Iran, China, Italy and Slovakia), held a seminar on the features of the operation of energy-saving equipment - condensing gas boilers, using the example of boilers of its own production.
