Time has chosen us!

Under this motto, the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly is being held in Minsk these days.

On April 24, 1,166 delegates and about 1,000 invited guests gathered at the Palace of the Republic, among whom were representatives of the Brest State Technical University. BrSTU Rector Sergei Antonovich Kasperovich is present at the meeting as an invited guest. The delegates were the Head of the Department of Economics and Organization of Construction, Yulia Dordyuk, and BrSTU student, commander of the student construction team "Spadchyna" named after P. M. Masherov, Semyon Lyulkovich.

A live broadcast of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly was organized for students, teachers and university staff over two days.

All-Belarusian People's Assembly participants and spectators after the opening shared their opinions about the significance of this event:

• “This is the most important socio-political event in the life of our country this year, and perhaps the whole five years - we see constructive, systematic changes in the political system of our society, the very system of decision-making at the state level. And these changes regarding the involvement of a fairly wide range of participants in these processes are, without a doubt, relevant for our country, are aimed at the future and are based on the history of our people and our statehood.
And the speech of the Head of State is full of emotional moments, boundless concern for the future of our native Belarus... In me personally, it instilled confidence that together we can not only preserve the results achieved over the years of independence, the most important value - a peaceful sky above our heads, but also significantly to multiply our achievements in the development of the economy and social sphere,” — Rector of BrSTU Sergei Antonovich Kasperovich.

• “The VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly gathered elected delegates from all over the country at the Palace of the Republic. The new status of the Supreme Council indicates the constitutionality of the assembly, its high powers and nationality. The All-Belarusian People's Assembly is vested with the right of legislative initiative. This speaks of a new political stage in the development of the Republic of Belarus.
I was especially touched by the President’s speech, which very sincerely reflected the events taking place in the world, the complexity of the geopolitical situation, love for one’s country and one’s people, the need for unity and cohesion of the entire Belarusian people! “Time has chosen us!” This is the main message of today. Only by uniting, making smart, bold decisions, protecting the interests of our country, fulfilling our duties efficiently and without betraying our history, can we remain an independent sovereign state!” — Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalya Petrovna Yalovaya.

• “Students and youth representatives are especially active in showing their interest in the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, since this is not only one of the ways to trace the course of the history of their state, but also to influence it.
Young people are also concerned about the social aspect of the state’s development (number of jobs, career opportunities, etc.),” — BrSTU student Elizaveta Kalyutich.

• “I, like many Belarusians, watched the online broadcast of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly and the speech of the President of our country, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. During his speech, the President outlined the key areas of development, and I was very pleased that the key role was assigned to the younger generation, guys like me and my peers. After all, it is up to us to build the future of the country and determine the vectors of its further development and prosperity,” — BrSTU student Daria Luneva.

• “The performance was simply amazing! The President managed to convey his deep love for the Motherland and inspire me to actively participate in the life of the country. He emphasized that patriotism does not mean blind loyalty, but is a conscious and responsible attitude towards one’s country. In general, the performance left bright emotions and many useful thoughts to think about,” — BrSTU student Nika Bazylyuk.
